Closed-road gran fondo on the historic Tre Valli Varesine pro roads (UCI GF World Series; UEC European Champs host). ~126km / ~2,500m of continuous pre-Alpine climbing between Lakes Lugano, Maggiore and Varese. ~99km medio option. Next date ~2027-10-03 approximate.

Race the same closed pre-Alpine roads as the Tre Valli Varesine pros: a UCI Gran Fondo World Series qualifier and host of the UEC European Championships, starting and finishing in Varese in early October.

It bites from the gun. A ~12km climb to Alpe Tedesco, the highest point, before the road tips up again through Morosolo and Casciago to an uphill finish. ~126km, ~2,500m, and no flat to hide in.

Iconic, yes, but fast. Closed roads mean a real group pace, and the climbing never lets up. Threshold power and repeatability decide your day, not just a big engine.

Who this suits

Is Tre Valli Varesine Gran Fondo for you?

  • Riders drawn to racing historic pro roads. This is a UCI World Series qualifier and a European Championships host, not just another sportive.
  • Punchy climbers with a strong threshold. The repeated climbs reward high W/kg and the legs to go again while tired.
  • Riders who can pace the opening climb. Ride Alpe Tedesco to your own ceiling instead of blowing up chasing a faster group.
  • Confident group riders and descenders. The closed-road pace and fast paved descents reward good position and cornering.
