Bikepacking race — solo / pairs
Not a race. A self-supported bikepacking pilgrimage from Turin to Nice over the most legendary gravel and paved cols in the Alps. No timing, no ranking, no winner. The point is the journey.
Around 700km with roughly 16,000m of climbing, every single day over 2,000m. Iconic gravel military roads (Finestre, the Assietta ridge, Sommeiller, the Gardetta plateau) linked by classic paved passes above 2,700m.
Short on paper, savage in the vertical. 700km sounds gentle until you stack 16,000m of alpine climbing on rough surfaces. Ride it in three days flat or savour it over a week. Your pace, not a clock's.
Who this suits
- Riders who love climbing above all else. This route is defined by relentless vertical, not raw distance.
- Bikepackers at home on mixed surfaces. Rough gravel military roads and smooth paved cols can land in the same day.
- Adventurers chasing the experience, not a placing. With no timing and no ranking, you set the pace you want to ride.
- Anyone with big-climb or altitude exposure. Repeated passes at 2,500 to 2,900m ask for legs that have been high before.
