Self-supported gravel/off-road bikepacking ultra across Czechia's forests and hills, offered in ~800km and ~1,100km distances. A durability-and-distance event, well-supplied by ultra standards. Distances, climbing, and July date are approximate.
Location
Brod nad Tichou, Czechia (traverse)
Category
Bikepacking race — solo
A self-supported gravel traverse of an entire country. Ride Czechia end to end on forest roads and farm tracks, either ~800km or ~1,100km, carrying everything: no support crew, no booked beds.
The vertical is relentless. Rolling forest and low-mountain climbs that never quite stop, stacking to around 12,000m on the shorter route. Rarely flat, rarely dramatic, always grinding.
It's brutal by duration, not by drama. Two to four days where sleep, saddle sores and consistent eating decide your race, not your FTP. Well-supplied for an ultra, still savage to finish.

Who this suits
- Riders who thrive on grinding volume, not sprints. This is days of steady rolling gravel, won by the patient rather than the punchy.
- Anyone dialled in on contact points. Here your saddle, hands and feet survive multi-day riding, or your race ends long before your legs do.
- Self-sufficient types who enjoy the logistics puzzle: navigation, resupply around Czech shop hours, and a sleep plan you actually stick to.
- Gravel riders wanting a big multi-day adventure without alpine drama or hike-a-bike. Relentless and well-supplied, but all rideable.
Training plan
A training plan for Race Across Czechia isn't a generic base build. Beina reads the event's exact demands, looks at your specific profile and the time you actually have, and maps a highly adapted plan to the start line.
01 · Race demands
What the route throws at you
- Relentless rolling vertical: constant forest and low-mountain climbs, cumulative rather than in big alpine blocks
- Mixed gravel surfaces, from fast hard-pack to loose, chunky, mud-prone forest tracks after rain
- Multi-day self-support: two to four days riding, carrying your kit, sleeping out, no feed stations
- Contact-point breakdown: saddle sores, numb hands and foot hot-spots end more ultras than fitness does
02 · Key sessions
What your weeks look like
- Weekend doubles: two long back-to-back gravel days to teach your body cumulative multi-day fatigue
- Overnight rides through the dark with a short bivvy, rehearsing sleep timing and night navigation
- Loaded gravel rides on full bikepacking kit, plus progressive long rides to condition saddle, hands and feet
- A multi-day self-supported block in the Specialise phase: full kit, real resupply, your locked-in sleep plan
03 · Shaped around you
Not a generic schedule
