Andalucía Bike Race by Garmin

Multi-day UCI off-road MTB stage race in Andalusia (Granada, Jaén, Córdoba) ridden in pairs — ~305km / ~8,630m over the stages, technical XCO and marathon terrain, ~800-1,000 riders. Date approximate.

Date
24 Feb 2027
Location
Andalusia (Granada / Jaén / Córdoba), Spain
Category
MTB stage race — solo / pairs
Difficulty
Tough

You ride it as a pair, and you cross every stage line together. A UCI mountain-bike stage race across Andalusia, scored on your team's cumulative time, where the slower rider on the day sets the pace.

Southern Spain in late February. High Sierra climbs around Granada, the most technical singletrack of the week through Jaén, then a fast, flowing finale near Córdoba.

It's a durability test, not a single big day. Back-to-back off-road stages stack fatigue, and your team is only ever as fast as its more tired rider the next morning.

Who this suits

Is Andalucía Bike Race by Garmin for you?

  • Pairs who train together. Your result is one cumulative time, so the partnership has to be rehearsed, not improvised on day one.
  • Confident technical descenders. The Jaén trails reward committed handling and quietly punish anyone who rides the rocks tentatively.
  • Riders built for back-to-back days. Recovering overnight and backing up the effort matters more here than one standout performance.
  • Strong off-road climbers who pace with their head. The Sierra stages carry real elevation and go to teams that ration the effort.

01 · Race demands
What the ABR throws at you
  • Consecutive off-road stages: race, recover overnight, then back it up the next morning
  • Sustained climbing on the high Granada stages, on both trail and fire road
  • Rocky, technical descents through Jaén that cost time if ridden tentatively
  • The pairing dimension: pacing, sheltering and communicating so neither rider blows up
02 · Key sessions
What your weeks look like
  • Long off-road rides of 3 to 5 hours with 1,500 to 2,500m of climbing, fuelling as you go
  • Sustained trail climbs: 3 to 4 blocks of 15 to 25 minutes at threshold
  • Back-to-back MTB weekends, a 4 hour Saturday then a 3 hour Sunday on tired legs
  • Paired race-pace rides with your partner to rehearse pacing and sheltering
03 · Shaped around you
Not a generic schedule
  • Built from your current fitness and the time you actually have
  • Adapts every week as Beina learns how you respond
  • Syncs your sessions straight to Garmin and Wahoo
  • One clear next session, never a wall of spreadsheet
